If your phone was lost or stolen and replaced, or if you upgraded to a new phone or device you will need to restore your Sock account in order to interact with your funds.

Important: If you have not already backed up your Sock account, do so before you lose access to your old device by following the instructions here.

If you have not perviously backed up your Sock account and no longer have access to the phone or device where your account was created, you will not be able to access your Sock account funds. You must have either backed up your account manually or via iCloud/Drive in order to restore your account.

Restoring your account using a manual backup

You can restore your Sock account using a manual backup that you previously created. This was mostly likely written down manually and stored on paper somewhere, so you'll need to first retrieve that.

Step 1: After logging in on your new device, you'll likely see the "Account locked" screen. Tap on "Unlock with recovery phrase".

Step 2: Next, enter in your 12-word phrase and tap on "Submit".

Step 3: If the recovery phrase was correct, you'll see the "Backup successful" screen and can tap on "Got it" to continue using the app as normal.

Restoring your account using an iCloud or Google Drive backup

You can restore your Sock account using a cloud backup that you previously created. In order to access this, you must remember the password you used to create the backup on iCloud or Drive.

Step 1: After logging in on your new device, you'll likely see the "Account locked" screen. Tap on "Unlock with iCloud backup" or "Unlock with Google Drive backup".

Step 2: Next, enter the password you used when originally backing up your account. Tap on "Save".

Step 3: If the password was correct, you'll see the "Backup successful" screen and can tap on "Got it" to continue using the app as normal.
